the

Sensory Garden

services guide

Initial consultation - An informal chat to get to know your personality, your family and lifestyle, any thoughts you have for the garden.

Site survey - A detailed survey is needed before any design or re-design work can be carried out. This entails measuring the garden and components within it and taking details of the vegetation; deciding what is going to be kept and what is perhaps not. The levels of the garden must be accounted for, any difficult levels being referred to a surveyor for complete accuracy. The orientation of the garden must be considered together with the soil structure and other landmarks outside the garden boundaries. Only when all this information is known can I bring in my creative flair to design the garden in a manner to suit you and your home (or site if public access such as school grounds, hospital grounds or retirement home).

Sketch designs - When the site survey is complete the process of thought on the best options to suit you and your garden begins. I will make several sketch drawings to scale and re-visit you to talk over the ideas. You may decide on one overall design or take ideas from each.

Final design - Your chosen design is drawn up to a relevant scale with any visualisations as required.

Planting plan/advice - this service is available for the whole site or part as required.

Costs - The initial consultation fee is £50; which is deducted from the package price if Sensory Garden are commissioned to work on your project. All other charges are discussed as part of this process or where appropriate.
